“The opportunity still exists for us to engage in dialogue that addresses our fears, concerns, and aspirations. Youth can lead the vision for the Libya we desire”
– Mohamed Abu Snaina
At the United Nations
Working for Libya at the heart of multilateral diplomacy, from the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, the place where world leaders gather, consultations are held, and draft resolutions are presented to address issues of war, peace, poverty, and development.
Dialogue & Debating
The Dialogue & Debate Association has been and continues to be an important milestone, not just as part of my civil work career, but in my broader journey towards building the Libya we desire. A group of young Libyans came together to build peace and empower youth through dialogue.
Youth Forum
With over 120 dialogue sessions and 5,000 members from across the country, We aim to ensure that young people establish their national vision through a community-based approach. This approach starts at the grassroots level, engaging with youth in discussions, shaping their visions, and supporting active, visionary young participants to engage effectively in politics.
MA in International Relations
After winning the Chevening Scholarship to study in the UK, I spent a full year in an intensive master’s program at the University of Birmingham’s School of Government. I graduated with distinction, having focused my thesis on rethinking Post-Liberal Peacebuilding in Libya, investigating the Local Bottom beyond Tribes.
Young Leaders
Receiving the ’40 Under 40′ award for young influencers in Libya in the summer of 2023, granted by the Ministry of Youth, is a great honor. This is not just for me; It is to all of those who work sincerely in the field of debate, who believe in dialogue in a time when the voices of war were louder, and to all my family and friends who supported me in this endeavor.
